I’m a big fan of well-done art which teaches things of Sacred Scripture. While not in the Bible, the destruction of Jerusalem in 70A.D. by the Romans is tightly linked to the history of the Bible.
The Romans destroyed the buildings which Jesus and his disciples would have walked by, eaten in, etc… The stories of this epic event in history are many, heart wrenching, and a good reminder to not forget history. Read the rest »

Focus on the Family has a gripping two-part series interviewing Dr. Bernard Nathanson. As the former director of the world’s largest abortion clinic, Dr. Bernard Nathanson says he is responsible for the death of some 75,000 pre-born babies. In his two years at the clinic, he oversaw tens of thousands of abortions, and personally performed thousands more. He stopped doing abortions after viewing an abortion through ultrasound.

The moral conscience of a society has been spotlighted by two great men. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. both appealed for the moral consciousness of their time to arise in response to social injustice. Abraham Lincoln made the observation that slavery was a taboo subject in social circles. It was only spoken in whispers. He claimed this was because the moral conscience knew slavery was wrong, yet the people’s moral consciousness was overcome with fear. In similar ways, Martin Luther King Jr., wrote to Daisy Bates in Arkansas saying, “adhere rigorously to a way of non-violence for the moral conscience of millions of white Americans is with you.”
Many observations of popular culture make it seem the United States has lost a collective moral conscience. It is my prayer today, on Martin Luther King Jr. day, for the Lord to raise up someone who would help to once again awaken the moral conscience of this country to abolish the whispered tragedy of the unborn citizen. May time come to their side and allow them to breathe the air of freedom, hope and opportunity.
