First, Constantine didn’t make Christianity the religion of state - that was Theodosius nearly 100 years later; He removed the consequences for being Christian; Now, many bishops were already in positions of power because they stepped in to the governing and administrative positions as the nobility fled.
Also, one of your questions asks “what was the ONE main benefit” but then you have the answer be “all of the above”…that seems misleading…
