There are Bible Cases that have zippers to contain and protect the Bible. Other places that one can read the Bible is in their garden, their patio or balcony, their basement, in their car before they pull out in the mornings, at lunch breaks, waiting lobbies e.g. doctor's office, banks, business appointments, etc. The important thing is that the environment should be free from noise and where you are not easily distracted and able to focus for at least 15 minutes in order to be able to meditate and or make notes. You could also set your clock to alarm in the middle of the night so you can get up and read then back to bed if you have the discipline.

The best time to get the most out of your Bible Reading is very early in the morning when the mind and body is fresh and it is very quiet. It is also helpful to have a Bible and a Bible Dictionary that has reader friendly print also a book marker or two to help you mark where you need to continue from quickly. Invite the Holy Spirit to help you teach you to understand with understanding context in prayer before you begin to read each time. Be patient with yourself - it is not profitable to move on until you have a basic understanding of what you read so that you are able to ask the right question to can get the right answer if you need to ask someone .

That was pretty awesome! What a wonderful thing to see, really a foretaste of the feast to come--all peoples gathered around worshiping "One God, One Creator"

Helmut,

The names that display over the maps are done by Google. It looks like Google has currently disabled all names over Israel. I'm sure this has to do with a legal or safety issue. Hopefully they will come back soon. The only name over the country is "Israel" and that name IS in Hebrew. All the Arabic names around the country are coming from Jordan, Syria or Egypt...all of those are Arabic speaking countries. Google places the names of locations in their native tongue. An additional reason the names may have been removed is because of a disagreement over what languages to display for certain cities.

I hope that helps.

Great work you did.
Question: why do the google maps all show names in Arabic?
Even over Israel. If not the English, then why not the Hebrew names?

This is an area I still struggle with my own church. I love the pastor, staff and fellow worshipers but when they decided to make the church less "churchy" and spend $200k to do so they hit a raw nerve with me.I had a previous experience with a church that had some new staff people and suddenly within months this "new-age" group took over the church completely and it started by making the church less "churchy".

My church went through with their changes and the only glitch was when they tried to cover up the stained glass windows and then everyone was upset.

But here's what is so so sad. They are constantly trying to reach people outside our church and they are dropping the high school students like a bad disease. They dont know what to do with them. They would put money toward remodeling the church and not toward sending the high schoolers to student leadership programs.

I would hope that churchs would meet the needs of the people who support the church first before spending money they dont have on things they dont need.

Karen,

The video files would be hard to get to you anytime soon. We're moving and they're packed away. Could you just run it from the web page?

This is a great discussion Tim. One that deserves a lot of consideration.

I agree that God is working inside and outside the chruch walls.
I also think there's a world of difference between "the church as an institution" vs "the church as a people." In the former way of viewing church, the real danger would be to see the institution as God's primary way, or worse, the only way that God makes Himself known.

Chruch as a people, or perhaps better stated, church as a Jesus/people movement puts the focus on Jesus and people rather than the institution. I realize that it's possible to be in the institution without being institutionalized...probably a whole other discussion...

In the end though, I have to agree with you, it's ultimately about loving those inside the walls and those outside them. But how we view church or how we think God views church can make a huge difference in our approach to making disciples.

Hello,
What a great resource this is. Would it be possible to attain the video files for the series, to be used as part of a Church History Study that our Church is running?
Blessings,
Karen
