I just stumbled upon your website with the “stumble” application I downloaded a couple of days ago. I am looking forward to using it to delve deeper. I have always felt a block in studying God’s word. I think this will help me. Thank you for having this site. I am going to look for the 101 tips for studying the Bible that I read a comment here about. I also like that one of your descriptive words about yourself is purity. That has been my focus as of late.

Hello there. I would just like to say that when I came to know Christ in 2001 at the age of 21, I was constantly trying to devour anything I could get my hands on about the Lord. I remember coming across your site way back then and I how much I enjoyed it. I thought your testimony was compelling and brutally honest. As a young person then, it was exciting for me to see someone close to my age that had such a passion for Jesus and fulfilling His will in their life. This is the first I have visited your site in many years and I am blown away at how far the Lord has taken it, and all the people He’s had you reach through it. It was really through trial and error. I just started tinkering with Flash and learning as much as I could online about how to use the tool. I have a computer programming background so that helped from a technical background. I also received some help here and there from co-workers and friends. Mainly though, there’s a whole bunch you can learn from adobe’s website and just not being afraid to mess up a bunch of times until you get it just right. However, it does take time.

I found that all your material is full of knowledge concerning development of religious faith. Living in Pakistan we Christians is to face many obstacles to get the access to the Word of God. Most of the people in Pakistan are not capable to understand the English language. It’s because our national language is Urdu. My suggestion for you is to create your material in my language of Urdu and Punjabi also. Hi, I was looking for a site that had maps from bible times and found biblemap.org, and since I wanted to know the source (I’m leading a bible study at my college, and I wanted to make sure I was citing solid info), I found your site, here. Thank you. I don’t know if you have the time to read all of the comments you get, but if you do, I wanted to thank you for having all this information up. There are a lot of curious people in my group, and God’s been spoiling me with remarkably talkative people, but half of them have no background in christianity at all, so I have to explain a lot of stuff that I haven’t really thought too hard about myself, and the maps and historical backgrounds are fantastic. Please continue to serve the Lord, and I hope that you have many people praying for you.

Even over Israel. If not the English, then why not the Hebrew names?

Helmut,
The names that display over the maps are done by Google. It looks like Google has currently disabled all names over Israel. I’m sure this has to do with a legal or safety issue. Hopefully they will come back soon. The only name over the country is “Israel” and that name IS in Hebrew. All the Arabic names around the country are coming from Jordan, Syria or Egypt…all of those are Arabic speaking countries. Google places the names of locations in their native tongue. An additional reason the names may have been removed is because of a disagreement over what languages to display for certain cities.
