Part of the reason why there are millions of Christians in China today is due to what God did through the life of Hudson Taylor. This book was written in 1932 by Hudson Taylor’s son and daughter-in-law. It is an exciting and fascinating must read.

Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret takes you on a wild ride through the life of the Taylor’s. The chapters entitled “Hidden Years” and “A Man Shut Up to God” are alone worth the price of admission. Every generation of believers must learn what it means to live for God. Even though this book talks about a man who lived in 1905, you will find his radical life applies very much to your life today.

It is very sad for a Christian to live without learning from those who have gone before them. When I first became a Christian in college it felt like I was the first person who had ever become a believer. I was almost surprised to learn that there had been people living sold-out for Christ for almost 2,000 years. Since then I have become more grounded in learning from some of those who lived at a different time and a different place. But I can accurately say that some of my greatest mentors are really old dead guys. This really old dead guy is a great mentor for any person to sit under for 250 pages.
