Safely Home

You’ve probably heard that a large part of the Christian church in China is persecuted. This may have gone in one side of your melon and out the other side just as quickly. Safely Home acts as a little plug in your ear. It gives flesh and blood to these persecuted believers.
Randy Alcorn writes this book in a way that will keep you from putting it down. Your friends and neighbors will begin to wonder if the book is surgically attached to your hands. The book is indeed a great read, but it also serves as a great resource for educating those outside of China what life is like on the inside. Safely Home is a fiction book, but the author assures us that this book accurately reflects the current situation.
Chuck Colson says this about Safely Home, “Randy Alcorn, one of the great storytellers among Christian writers today, has produced a powerful work. It’s not only a first-class story, it is a bracing wake-up call about Christian persecution in China, you’ll be challenged.”
Clive Calver, president of World Relief says, “Randy Alcorn shows us what it could be like to live and die for a faith that will last for eternity. Read this book and you may never be the same again.”
This book helps us remember that Jesus is persecuted when any one of His followers is persecuted. Hebrews 11:37-38 says, “They were stoned; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated - the world was not worthy of them.” Did you catch that, God said that the world was not worthy of these people. Any believer should pay close attention to those whom God praises so highly. Entering into the world of those who are persecuted will help to awaken us from the fog of comfort.
